Accountaguard
Read the narration

You pay thousands a month for overnight security. But who checks that the rounds get walked? Ten feet from your sleeping guard, a resident's car disappears. With Accountaguard, guards scan QR checkpoints across your property. Every scan is timestamped proof the round was walked. A guard who's really there is the one who stops it. Accountaguard. Keeping guards accountable. Make them prove the work was done.

You spend thousands on security. Make them prove the work was done.

Put Accountaguard into your next security guard contract and save thousands on your insurance renewal.

Accountaguard is a guard tour system for apartment communities, paid for by the property manager. Guards scan a QR code at every checkpoint on every round. You get a timed, location-checked record of every patrol, and a clause that makes your security company stand behind it.

Your QR codes can be live within minutes. Your security company is accountable starting tonight.

6.3Post orders. Contractor shall follow the post orders in Exhibit A, including the patrol route and the number of rounds per shift.

6.4Patrol verification. Contractor shall verify every patrol round by scanning each Accountaguard checkpoint posted at the Property. Each scan records the time and the location of the scanning phone. Client may review the patrol record at any time. Scheduled scans for a day are the number of checkpoints multiplied by the number of rounds in the post orders. For each calendar day on which fewer than 90% of scheduled scans are verified, Contractor shall reduce the monthly service fee by $100.

6.5Incident reports. Contractor shall report any incident at the Property to Client within twenty-four hours, with the name of each guard on duty and a description of the response.

How the proof gets made

Setup takes minutes. Print the codes, tape them up, and tonight's rounds are on the record.

  1. Post the codes

Print a QR code for each checkpoint and tape them up at the gates, stairwells, lots and pool. Pin where each one hangs by clicking its spot on the satellite map.

  2. Guards scan every round

The guard points a phone camera at each code. There is no app to install and no login. Every scan records the time and where the phone was.

  3. The record builds itself

Scans group into rounds for each guard. Your dashboard shows every round, every missed checkpoint and every scan that looks faked, updated every 15 seconds.

Every round leaves a record.

Each checkpoint gets a line on one timeline. Black marks are verified scans. Red marks are what your security company will need to explain.

  • Hours with no scansA skipped round shows as a hatched gap at every checkpoint it missed.
  • Scanned too far awayThe phone was more than 35 m beyond its own GPS accuracy from the checkpoint.
  • Scanned too fastTwo checkpoints were reached faster than a brisk walk of 2.5 m/s.
  • Location offThe guard blocked location, or the phone had no fix.

Guards never see the flags. Their phone shows a checkmark, the checkpoint and the time, so nobody learns what gets caught.

Exhibit B, patrol record Night of October 20, 10 PM to 6 AM. Example data for a sample property.

Back lot. No scans from 11:19 PM to 3:19 AM. Four rounds skipped it.

Garage level 2, 1:22 AM. Scanned 412 m from the checkpoint, from the security booth.

Bring the record to your insurance renewal.

Underwriters ask how you prevent losses on the property. The guard company's daily activity report is their account of the night. A timed, location-checked scan at every checkpoint is proof you can hand over, for every round since the codes went up.

  • Timed and locatedEvery scan carries the time and where the phone was standing.
  • Gaps by nameMissed checkpoints are listed for every round and every guard.
  • The whole historyEvery night is kept, back to the day the codes went up.

Questions property managers ask

How fast can we start?

Today. Print the codes, tape them up and click each spot on the satellite map. The codes work the moment they are posted, so guards scan them on tonight's first round.

What is a guard tour system?

A guard tour system proves a security guard visited each checkpoint on a property, and when. Accountaguard uses printed QR codes: the guard scans each one with a phone camera, and every scan records the time and the phone's location. Most guard tour software is bought by security companies to manage their own guards. Accountaguard is bought by the property manager, so the record belongs to the client.

How much does Accountaguard cost?

$0.25 per apartment unit per month, billed monthly. A 200-unit community pays $50 a month. There is no charge per guard, per checkpoint or per device, and you can cancel from the dashboard.

Will this lower my insurance premium?

Premiums depend on many things, and no insurer promises a discount for software. Underwriters do weigh documented loss prevention. Accountaguard gives you a dated, location-checked record of every patrol to put in front of them at renewal.

Will our security company accept the clause?

Put it in your next request for proposals, so every bidder prices it in. A company that walks every round loses nothing by proving it.

Do guards need to download an app?

No. Any phone camera opens the scan page. The first scan asks for the guard's name, and the phone remembers it after that.

Can a guard fake a scan?

A photo of a code scanned away from its checkpoint is flagged as too far away. Two distant checkpoints scanned seconds apart are flagged as too fast. A phone with location turned off is flagged every time. A GPS-spoofing app can fool a phone's location, and the timing check still applies to it.

What happens when a code gets torn down?

Print it again and put it back in the same spot. A reprint is the same code, so it keeps working and its history continues.

Can a new guard find the checkpoints?

Yes. Accountaguard makes a satellite map with every checkpoint pinned and a photo of each spot. Print it for the first shift, or send the guard a link.
